Our 4 week starter course is for people looking for a fun new way to improve their fitness and energy, build resilience, reduce stress, learn to protect themselves and take a break from ‘normal’ life.

Classes are taught in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment and the course is intended for beginners, so you can work at your own pace. Please note that regular class will run alongside the course.

As well as basic fitness training and stretching, you’ll be introduced to padwork and striking, blocking and evasion skills, self defence techniques, simple takedowns and break-falls, Qi-Gong exercises for mindfulness and much more!

The Five Rings Martial Arts will help you improve your physical strength and fitness by giving you a full-body workout that challenges all of your major muscle groups.

Self Defence skills

The Five Rings Martial Arts teaches you effective self defence by training you in a range of skills and techniques for various situations, as well as improving your overall physical condition so that you will be more physically able to defend yourself if you ever have to.

Mindfulness & Focus

The Five Rings Martial Arts promotes mindfulness by helping you be in the present moment and focus on what you are doing. Martial Arts helps develop better focus  and concentration and the discipline required helps your overall mental wellbeing.

Community

The Five Rings Martial Arts teaches in a friendly, safe and fun environment where you can meet and train with like-minded people, forge new friendships and become a part of our Martial Arts Community.

The fee for the course is €35.00. This enables you to attend all classes within a four week period from the start of your course. 

A €10.00 deposit is required to secure your space. The balance can be paid at the first session.

Coach: Kyle Hargreaves,
Master Instructor

Kyle is the Founder of The Five Rings Martial Arts. He has been training and teaching in martial arts for over 20 years, specialising in functional self defence and personal development. 

He is a Master Black Belt Instructor in Kung Fu and also a 5th Dan Black Belt in Japanese Ju-Jitsu. He has also spent time training in a number of other arts over the years, including Karate, Tai Chi, Chow Gar Southern Mantis and Kali.

Kyle is down to Earth and likes to maintain a relaxed teaching environment,  however he is not afraid to push you when he needs to! While he takes the training very seriously, he doesn’t take himself too seriously and is always open to continual learning and personal development. 

As well as having over two decades of Martial Arts experience, Kyle is also a certified life coach, master practitioner of NLP and holistic lifestyle coach.
